I would like to apologize for my prolonged absence, my little crazies. Life got, well, crazy and I had neither the time nor the will to blog. But I’m back and ready for some action! I’m revamping this entire blog to make it efficent and suitable for it’s purpose. I am going to dedicate my free-time to exploring the world of asylums, new and old. I will probably be going through and deleting posts while consildating others. I will also probably edit the pages to make everything more efficent. Finally, I going to get around to writing those book reviews. Hopefully all this hard work will pay off.

News 8:18 PM
Sorry, my lovely crazies, for not being active for a couple of weeks. My computer got a virus. Yeah…. School has also started up again, so I am swamped with work. It is nice being able to feel useful again, so I’m not entirely saddened by my schedule changes. Anyway, I am proud to annouce that I was able to visit an asylum this summer! I shall post pictures soon. I just need to transfer them over from an iPhone. There is also a book on the asylum I visited, and I hope to read it and review it. I have big plans for this small, insignificant blog. So, for those who actually bother to read it, please keep checking back and supporting it! Trust me, it will become well known. I have some plans up my sleeve.

Unforatunately, I will not be able to visit any asylums on my trip. I was unable to arrange anything. Well, I might be able to drive past one! I’ll see if I can snap a picture or two. Sorry for the disappoint, my little crazies.
I also forgot to write a review for the book. I’ve been busy. Hopefully things will come together soon.

News 8:12 PM
Hey crazies! I’m trying so hard to get into an abandoned insane asylum. I refuse to do it illegally, so I have a lot of phone calls to make. In the meantime, I’m going to write a review for the asylum book I have, and I shall hopefully post it tomorrow!
School at Central Islip Monday, Aug 9 2010
Asylums 4:08 PM
My grandma was a teacher, and she taught at a school that was on the grounds of Centrail Islip Insane Asylum. All the students were connected to the asylum in some ways. Some were the offspring of doctors, while others had parents who were janitors. Some even had parental units that were insane.
Hooray for Long Island! Wednesday, Aug 4 2010
I just found out the Long Island, located in New York, has a whole museum on Psychiatric Care. Yes! Yes! Yes! Finally, society is taking interested in America’s darker history.
I still have some e-mails to send to owners of abandoned insane asylums. So far, I have recieved no replies. So, I’m sending them more e-mails. I really want to get into these lovely little buildings, but I refuse to break the law!

News 9:18 PM
My sister is having a slumber party…yeah…not. That means I’m hiding out in the kitchen with only my laptop for company. I’ve been running around saying “All the poppity corn!” the entire day. I’ll post a video and you will know why. I feel as if I’m wasting my life, as well. I blame it on the pretty piano music I’m listening to. Well, I’m also kind of wasting my life. Or I feel like it. Everyday is the same: I’m extremely bored and I hang out on the computer, wasting precious time. I know I have writing, but I only do that a couple of hours a day. What about the other hours? I need to do something that gives me a sense of purpose!
And those are my thoughts for today. Touching, I know. I need to check into an insane asylum.
It has arrived!!!!! Friday, Jul 30 2010
News 2:57 PM
I have recieved a fabulous book about asylums in the mail! I can’t wait to dive into it! I will be sure to review this book for you, my little crazies. It will also post any interesting and useful information I find. I’m so very excited!
Jar of Hearts Saturday, Jul 24 2010
Hey crazies! Have you heard Christina Perri’s song “Jar of Hearts”? It’s spectacular! Of course, when I listen to the song, I can’t help thinking of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. There is an episode where everyone lost their voice. These creepy guys called The Gentlemen, went around and collected hearts in jars. The only way to defeat them was to scream. Hard to do without a voice.
Anyway, I’ve been doing some research on asylums I wish to visit. I found out that a historical society actually provides tours for their asylum! Look! Real progress! We’re saving history! I’m going to see if I can get a tour because that would make my day.
Before I go, crazies, I want know who actually reads this blog. So, I have questions for you guys.
-What do you think of the blog so far?
-Any suggestions?
-What do you want to see next?
-Any asylum questions or stories?
Please answer these questions in the comment section below. Thanks!
